Meet the Owner

Kara is the owner and curator behind The Vintage Bunkhouse. She has always been drawn to things with character: beautiful patina, rusty metal, chippy paint, weathered wood, worn ironstone, and anything that looks like it has lived a good life. She’s always on the hunt for something unusual, beautiful, and simply too good to leave behind.

Our Mission

To preserve the past, thoughtfully curate the present, and help create timeless homes filled with pieces that have a story.

Our Story

The Vintage Bunkhouse began on our 1908 farm in a tiny bunkhouse, born from Kara’s love for old things, storied finds, and pieces with character. What started as a passion for picking antiques has grown into a brick and mortar shop in historic downtown Fruitland, filled with vintage treasures, European finds, handmade goods, and pieces gathered from near and far. Today, the Bunkhouse is also home to a talented group of vendors who each bring their own style, eye, and finds to the shop.
